ymca_red_rgb_r10:00 am YMCA Youth Dance Performance

The Owen County Family YMCA youth dance classes will perform.  Come to the Tivoli at 10 am for a special treat of a live performance by the youth dance program.

Tivoli_Logo10:30 am and 11:15 am a Christmas movie at the Tivoli. Also Tri-Kappa will be available to pass out free books.

The Tivoli will open for a free Christmas movie short.  Visit the concession stand for special breakfast concessions as well the classic options of popcorn, candy, and soft drinks.  The movie will be free admission.  (capacity of 280 for the movie) There may even be a special guest appearance by Santa!

12:00 pm to 1:00 pm Grinch Sighting! The Mean One has been seen lurking around the courthouse square.  Come by for photos with the Grinch and to hear the story of the Grinch read by Amy Greene.

Local vendors will be selling items from handmade crafts to homemade jams and foods.  Vendors will be located at

Open Houses

Local business and organizations will be hosting open houses through out the day.  Show your support for local businesses by stopping by to visit, they may even have a special treat for visitors.

People’s Choice Window Decorating Contest and Merry Meter Contest

Local downtown businesses and organizations have joined in a window decorating contest.  Spencer Main Street, Inc has put together a Merry Meter contest where businesses, individuals, and organizations can decorate parking meters around the square for the holiday. Stroll downtown and view the lovely holiday window displays and parking meters, than vote for your favorite for a people choice award by photographing your favorite then tagging it at #iheartchristmasatthesquare

Stop by Babbs Supermarket 11a to 2p to visit with live reindeer while Santa is in town.

10:00 pm to 6:00 pm Christmas Cheer Silent Auction

Visit the exhibitor area to see all the silent auction item.  Place a bid on a specially themed or handcrafted item through the Christmas Cheer Silent Auction.  Then check your bid throughout the day to assure your winning bid amount.  Auction will conclude at 6:00 pm and items are available to pickup at the conclusion.  Funds collect through the silent auction will be support the Christmas Light Fundraiser.


1:00 pm Santa’s arrival via Fire Truck to the Owen County Courthouse

12:00 pm to 2:00 pm Christmas Carnival at the In God’s Arms (IGA) building

Stop by the In God’s Arms (IGA) building for a Christmas themed carnival hosted by the 4H Fishing Team.  The FREE carnival has a variety of activities for youth to enjoy.

1:00 pm to 4:00 pm Courthouse activities and Pictures with Santa

The always favorite pictures with Santa will take place on the third floor as Spencer Evening World editor Travis Curry, captures children sharing their wishes with Santa.  Cookie decorating, crafts by OC Garden Club, book readings by OC Public Library, reindeer dust distribution by the Delta Theta Tau, face painting sponsored by Indiana Limestone Fabricators, live entertainment and more will take place on the first and second floor of the Courthouse.

Everyone loves a parade, especially one with Christmas lights and holiday cheer.  Parade route will include South Main Street from Cooper St to the Courthouse.

Following Parade

Santa will read a story, lead the community in caroling, and help light the courthouse dome lights before saying farewell and returning to the North PoleCourthouse2
